SAARC Chamber Women Entrepreneurs Council (SCWEC) is a sub sector council of the SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry. SCWEC comprises a membership of key women entrepreneurs organizations from the SAARC Countries.

SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) is a regional Apex Body of the seven SAARC countries National Chamber of Commerce and Industry. SCCI has played a significant role in promoting economic trade cooperation in the region.

  • To facilitate co-operation and networking among the women entrepreneurs of the SAARC region.

  • Strengthening the intra-regional development of women entrepreneurship for economic development.

  • To exchange information on entrepreneurial skills and build trade links among the women of the SAARC region.

Recognizing the necessity to propose a broad outline of activity based programs for the women council members of the region, to actively move towards higher levels of trade and economic development in the region by removing the present barriers for the easy flow of goods, services, technology transfer, the SAARC Chamber Crafts Village Project idea was conceived at the inaugural conference held in Colombo, Sri Lanka in 2001. The concept was activated by SCWEC Nepal. and implemented by the Federation of Woman Entrepreneurs Associations of Nepal ( FWEAN )
